Kiss that Frog
It's a little late now, but today was the Kiss That Frog Warehouse sale. Since this was the last day of the sale, everything was an additional 20% off. This is my 2nd or maybe even 3rd time to the sale. They supply Anthropologie with a lot of their dishware. I got these really cute ice cream cups for 2 bucks each.
We also got Babar figurines for the kids (2 bucks each) and a big, pink, coffee cup for me, $6. It's huge. Will be perfect for my caffeine addiction! They hold the sale two times a year, and I signed up to be on the mailing list, so I will post advance notice next time. I wouldn't have known about it unless I was driving by looking for parking on the way to a birthday party at Aquatic Park.

Where to find good prices on Kid's Clothes
I think I've posted about Children's Place on Amazon before, but it's sooooo good I have to do it again. Children's Place's website sucks, but Amazon's is great. And, they sell their clothes on Amazon. And the sale prices are pretty amazing. This shirt is $4.19, and the sweater is 4.99
Also good is Lands End Overstocks. Not everything is dirt cheap, but a lot of stuff is. Like these
climber pants for boys, 11.50. I have a pair that I bought for my son and they have held up.
And of course, there is the standard, Old Navy. I can't wait until H&M sells kids clothes over here.

Hold Everything is going out of business!
I went to the Emeryville Mall the other day, because I needed to get my airport expressed fixed after a year of no wireless. And what did I see?
HOLD EVERYTHING IS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. Yes, even the mail order part of it. They were selling everything, even the store fixtures. Coffee tables (store fixtures) white laminate top, layered wood sides and black powder-coated steel legs ONLY $10 bucks! Merchandise was 75% off.
I would keep my eye on the site
for when the real slashing takes place.

all I think about are plants
so much to tell regarding the plant life.
today I went to annie's annuals in richmond. they are having a "spring fling" next weekend but it gets so crowded and considering there is no discount there is coinicidentally no need to succumb to the irritiation of massed persons. I did get some interesting items today; a red lupine, a cup and saucer vine to cover our unsightly fence, this plant that I buy every year because it smells like HEAVEN (cotton candy) in the evening, a couple of lovely poppies and oli picked out a couple plants for herself. just like the last time I was there the thing I wanted the most was not availible which is quite annoying. this year it is a member of the protea family that is truly the most divine plant I have seen in a long time. I asked lebasi to write down the name so we could find it on the web, I'd tell you what it is but all I remember is that it starts with "s". it was amazing, I am telepathically downloading the image. I know, a vision to behold.
then we were off to longs. I love longs but not as much as I used to. and imagine my shock when I found out that annie's annuals are CHEAPER at longs. the annuals are a fucking $0.75 less and the perennials are $0.26 less. I already carried displeasure at not being able to get the one plant at a2 that I would have liked and now this! it was just too much. I mean really, does that make any sense? anyway, longs didn't have anything interesting. I bought a red cordyline which was $9, five less than they sell it for a the hort. I mean no ill to the hort, btw. I loooooove the hort with almost all my heart.
the home depot. the portion of my heart not taken up with the hort tenderizes at the thought. that place has been awesome this year! they have gigantic pigmy date palms for $50. and I mean gigantic. I bought a hearty specimin of a fish tail palm for $40. at longs a spindly version was selling for $37, hd's was about four times as large for $3 less. they had large smoke bushes for $22, ten gallon king palms for $19, lovely mounted staghorn ferns for $20-25 and of course a very large selection of bullshit. but for the aforementioned prices, who cares?! I also had business inside and was helped by a very nice, very attractive fella.
