REI 50% off the clearance 8/28

As my hair stylist told me this morning, I am sick in the head with all this shopping crap. Yes, I went to another sale. Actually, I went to two stores truth be told. But it was only because Greg needs some shorts that don't show his crack. I told him we will probably be seeing a lot of white, doughy plumber's crack at Disneyland, and not to worry, but he didn't want to listen. The first place we went was Desination 1440 on San Pablo, which has a great sale section in the back of the store. Tons of men's shorts and Puma hoodies. I got a Burton visor for 50% off $17. I really wanted this super cute brown sleeveless western-style down vest with pink trim, but it was full price. (It was only 45 bucks... but I have to draw the line somewhere.) Anyway, we decided to go to REI because Greg thought the shorts were too hard core surfer/skatery at 1440. At REI there were racks and racks of clothes that were marked 50% off the lowest price. Tons of sports bras, running shorts and other sporty type clothes. (I am not that into REI, but Greg likes it) All the summer stuff has to make way for the winter stuff. Greg got a pair of shorts for $12. They have an elastic waistband and 30 million pockets. Perfect for carrying diapers and wipes around Disneyland.

Urban Outfitters on Bancroft in Berkeley: Sale Pile in the back

Well, I only had five minutes, as they were closing. But I made a beeline for the back of the store where they usually have the sale racks. There were PILES and PILES of clothes, and a lot of it really good. Of particular interest was a a cute pleated jean Miss Sixty skirt (might have to go back for that one) and black gouchos for $14. I also saw some low-rise lux jeans cut trouser-style, and they were only $29. There was way more than the usual amount of stuff on sale. I originally headed down to Bancroft to visit one of my new faves American Apparel. I recently got a skirt made out of light sweatshirt material there, and I love it, love it, love it! I now want to get one piece of everything they make, in several colors. Dressed head to toe in soft stretchable cotton, I will wear my American Apparel outfits the same way my mother wore polyester pant suits.

50% off the clearance at Macys 8/27

After our Red Star Clearance Excursion, which was a bust for me personally because I got a glimpse of my fat ass in the full-length mirror and suddenly didn't feel like buying ANYTHING, Gael and I headed down to Macys. (Jorge, if you are reading this, I need to double my sessions next week when I get back from Disneyland) Anyway, we were in the shoe section, loving on the size 7s, when lights started to flash and a voice came over the PA system and instructed us to evacuate because there was a fire in the building. If Macys doesn't burn to the ground, I highly reccomend checking the sale out. The prices were really good.

When the hell is H & M opening up?

Anyone know when the San Francisco H & M is opening up? Please post a comment or email me directly. Why is it that there is one in Fort Wayne, Indiana and not one here? For those of you who don't know, H&M is the Ikea of clothes.

Jeremy's: 45% off all clothing

The madness continues! 2967 College Ave in Berkeley. Berkeley store has mostly girl's stuff: Anthropologie, J Crew, etc. Recently spotted: a bunch of Agnes B. San Francisco store has high-end brands, that are too expensive for us, even with the tremendous discount. Last weekend I found a pair of magenta jcrew cords for 3 bucks! The line at the register was long, and my four-year-old surly, so I had to leave without them. I may try to swing by after Loehmanns if time permits. The old man will be home with the kids, so I have to be back home by 1 p.m. Maybe I can stay out longer if I give him a hand-job. Might just be worth it.

Loehmanns Red Star Clearance

With my extra 20% off 30% off the clearance, and my bonus $10 off a $50 dollar shoe purchase coupon, I am ready to hit my all-time favorite place to shop: Loehmanns San Francisco. I am picking up Gael at nine so we can be there when the doors open at 9.30 a.m. Sign up for the Insider Club so you too can enjoy complex math problems (i.e. exactly how much is half off $79.99, plus an extra 20%? Will I also be able to use the $20.00 off coupon or will I HAVE to buy that skirt, too?) while aquiring cute shit for less. Look for the red clearance tags! Four delicious floors of sublime discount goods. Shoes are across the street. 211 Sutter. Here's a map.
